Initial Discussion...

After discussing your project through a few exchanged emails we will have a basic idea of your project requirements and will have you complete a free Estimate Request Form to more accurately define your project. Once we determine the scope of your project we will present you with a written cost estimate. Written estimates are valid for a period of 30 days. If you feel that this project would be better discussed in person just give us a call to schedule an appointment.

Site Specs and Agreement

Once we've settled on a budget we will send you via email a simple written agreement for you to sign and return then we will schedule you into our calendar for a site production start date. At this point we require 50% of the total fee prior to starting the site. Estimates $350 or less must be paid in full prior to creating the site.

Site Content

One of the more important steps in site creation is gathering up your content. Content helps you achieve the goals you have set forth for the site by conveying through text and images the information you want to say about yourself. It is also the framework that we build your site around and in order for us to begin the site we require your content to be submitted to us by an agreed upon date and format to avoid delaying the start of the project.

Please understand that this part of the process is your responsibility and that progress cannot be made without your organized content.

The Site Creation

After we receive all your content the site creation begins. We will choose the appropriate layout, graphics and navigation to support the site and build the site to be user-friendly and functional for your viewers. As we progress with the site we will have you view the mockup through a private link we provide on our testing server. Following your approval of the mockup we will further tweak it and get it ready for testing. Testing will ensure that the site works across all platforms and in the most common browsers utilizing clean code and adhering to web standards. Websites are usually completed in 2-4 weeks.

The Site Launch

After we have tested the site and you have approved the final mockup we will then invoice you the remainder of the fee. We will then transfer the site to your web host where it will be officially launched on the internet.

The Site Completion and Long-Term Support

Once your site is completed your support doesn't end there. You may choose to have us do intermittent site maintenance on a monthly fee basis or on a "pay-as-you-go" method at our hourly rate. Clients who are adept with CSS, HTML and Javascript may wish to maintain the site themselves.

Search Engines, Rankings, and Optimization

Tumalo Web Design will do everything possible to optimize your site for those trying to find you on the Web. There are no guarantees in obtaining the highest ranking in the search engines but we will provide the optimization necessary by using clean code, utilizing headers, specifically selected meta tags and keywords, alt tags, and carefully positioned wording. We will manually submit your site to several major search engines. Small niche or specialty sites will do better than competitive ones where you will likely find yourself ranked higher than if your site has high competition. Depending upon your competition and several million other websites trying to garner the same market, rankings will be somewhat more difficult.

Refunds

Due to the digital nature of our service, no refunds will be given at any time for any reason.

Authorization

By using Tumalo Web Design to do your website design, you, the client, give Tumalo Web Design permission to access where applicable, your web hosting and domain accounts, blogger accounts, photohosting accounts, for the purpose of installing or maintaining the website.
